Ha, that's awesome. My buddy once kept his washing machine alive for two years with a pair of vice grips and a bent spoon. It made this horrible clanking sound every spin cycle but it got the job done until his landlord forced him to replace it. You gotta respect that kind of stubbornness.

Friend of mine fixed a broken dryer with a wire hanger and duct tape once. Thing ran for another three years before it finally gave up. Made a weird whistling noise the whole time but we just turned up the TV.
