Ceiling fan wobbled so bad I thought the house was coming down

Last Saturday in my bedroom, that old ceiling fan started shaking like it was trying to fly away. I tightened every screw I could see but it still wobbled. Turns out one blade had a tiny crack near the bracket I missed. So I used epoxy glue and a small metal bracket from my toolbox to brace it from underneath. Has anyone else fixed a cracked fan blade instead of buying a whole new unit?

Whoa, hold up. You glued a ceiling fan blade back together and it's still spinning? That's wild. In my experience once a blade cracks, the balance is thrown off for good. Your mileage may vary of course, but I'd be scared that epoxy lets go in the middle of the night and that thing becomes a helicopter blade. I've never tried bracing one with a metal bracket underneath though, that actually sounds pretty clever.

Yeah have you actually tried balancing a fan blade with a washer or a small weight? I've fixed a few cracked blades that way actually. The trick is to get the weight right on the opposite side of the crack so the whole thing spins smooth. Ngl I was nervous the first time too but I put a metal bracket on mine like you mentioned and it's been running fine for like two years now. Honestly the bigger issue is making sure the epoxy cures fully before you even think about turning the fan back on.
