Shoutout to the inspector who missed a leaky pipe by 2 feet
Last week in Austin, my buddy found a hidden plumbing leak behind a wall that his home inspector totally overlooked (even though it was 2 feet from the access panel). Do you think paying extra for a specialist inspection on an older house is worth it, or are general inspectors good enough for a first-time buy?

Damn, 2 feet from the access panel? That's wild they totally missed it. I'd say get a specialist if the house is older than 20 years, general guys are fine for the easy stuff but they breeze through inspections too fast.

@taylor_patel honestly I wonder how many houses out there have stuff like that just waiting to be found... have you ever run into a situation where a general inspector totally missed something that a specialist caught later on?
