Those budget moisture meters can give false readings in older plaster walls. Why trust a gadget over a professional inspector?

My old house had plaster and I used a pin-type meter on a low setting to avoid false positives. @brooke_knight, did your inspector use a thermo-hygrometer to check the air behind the wall, or just a visual check? That difference seems key.
