I thought those new composite post anchors were just a marketing thing
A supply house in Boise gave me a sample pack of six to try on a small backyard job last month. I was sure they would wobble or pull out in our clay soil after a winter. Well, we just had that big wind storm and the fence line is still perfectly straight, no lean at all. The install was faster too, since you don't have to mix concrete. Has anyone else switched to these for a full season yet? I'm curious about long-term wear.

Yeah, I was the same way, totally wrote them off as a gimmick. Put a few in as a test on a side yard replacement last fall, mostly to shut up the guy at the yard who kept pushing them. We get serious frost heave here, and I just checked them last week. Not a bit of movement. The real win was not having to haul and mix bags in the rain.

Right? I was sure they were just a gimmick too. I used them on a line by a really wet part of my yard and they haven't budged after all the rain we got. The no concrete thing is a game changer for sure.
