Thought asymmetrical hems were just a trend... until I made one for a client last week

I always rolled my eyes at those tops with one side longer. Seemed like a lazy design choice. But then a customer brought in this vintage 70s pattern and asked me to recreate it. Had to figure out the drape and balance. Took me 3 tries to get the hang of it. The way it moves on the body is actually pretty smart for hiding hip issues too. Has anyone else had a similar turnaround on a style they dismissed?

The drape hides imperfect button placement too, learned that one fast.
