That $600 sewing machine I bought in 2019 still going strong

I saved up for months to get a mid-range Bernette when I was living in Austin. Paid around $600 total and I thought I was crazy dropping that much on one hobby. But now it's been 5 years and I've put out over 40 custom jackets and dresses for friends without a single major repair. Anyone else have a machine that just refuses to quit on you?

40 jackets and dresses with no major repairs? Sounds like you got lucky more than anything. Those Bernettes are decent but $600 isn't going to buy you a tank that lasts forever.

Yeah I read somewhere Bernettes have gotten cheaper lately.
