Starched a collar so stiff it stood up on its own for two days

I tried that old school heavy starch method on a cotton shirt I was designing for a menswear lookbook. After about 4 sprays and a hot iron the collar literally stayed upright even after I unbuttoned it. Learned real quick that formula matters way more than I thought - lighter starch next time or I'll end up with a costume piece instead of a shirt. Anyone else have a simple detail turn into a complete monster on them?

Huh, I always thought heavy starch was the way to go until I tried it and learned the hard way too?

lol yeah I did the exact same thing. Thought I was being fancy with the heavy starch and ended up with a shirt that looked like it could stand up on its own. Lesson learned the crispy way.
