Shoutout to the person who convinced me to sketch silhouettes before details
I used to jump straight into drawing zippers and pockets on my designs, but after a local designer told me to map out the overall shape first, my pieces actually started looking cohesive. Anyone else struggle with getting the big picture right before adding the small stuff?

map out the overall shape first" - yeah that sounds way smarter than my method of just hoping it works out. So like, do you literally sketch just like a blob shape before anything else, or do you have some kinda system for how to break it down?

Yeah I pretty much just blob it out. A vague cloud shape then I start carving.
