Road trip style shift: Everyone wants clothes that transform

Driving through different states, I see a clear change. People are choosing outfits that adapt on the fly. Like hoodies that pack into their own pocket or dresses with reversible patterns. It's all about saving space and suiting multiple occasions. I want to sketch designs with this flexibility. But I struggle with making them look polished, not just practical. Any advice on clean seams or hidden features that don't bulk up the silhouette?

Worry less about hiding the features. Sometimes the clever trick is what makes the piece look cool, not fancy seams. Maybe just let the zipper or the fold be the design.

Watched my friend fight with a bag design for weeks, trying to bury every clip and strap. She gave up and let a big buckle sit right on the front, plain as day. That buckle became the thing everyone talked about and copied. Your take, @jamie_kim, really reminds me of her whole messy process. It taught her that the "flaw" you stop hiding can become the best part of the look.

That line about "the 'flaw' you stop hiding can become the best part of the look" really hit me hard. I've been there too (not with bags, but with a few DIY projects around my house where I tried to hide every little mistake). @jamie_kim is so right about letting the details just be themselves. It's like once you stop fighting something, it stops looking like a problem and starts looking like a choice. Honestly, it's such a relief to hear someone else say that out loud, you know?
