PSA: A client in Portland told me her 'statement piece' jacket was impossible to wear for more than an hour.
She said the beautiful, stiff leather collar she'd commissioned from a designer rubbed her neck raw, which made me realize a design can look perfect on a mannequin but fail on a moving person.

Ugh, I feel this in my bones. I once bought these amazing heels that looked like art on the shelf. Wore them to a party and had to leave after forty minutes because my feet were bleeding. They're still in my closet, just taunting me. Sometimes the thing that looks perfect is just built for a statue, not a person who actually has to move around.

But that's exactly why they're special. If shoes were just for comfort, we'd all wear slippers. Some beauty is meant to be looked at, not walked in.
