Overheard a barista in Portland say 'your jacket is the same color as my oat milk latte' and now I'm obsessed with designing a whole 'cafe menu' color palette.

I'm thinking of using those soft beige, warm brown, and off-white shades for a capsule collection, but what other everyday places have you guys pulled unexpected color stories from?

Honestly, my whole apartment is just different shades of hardware store paint swatches.

My last living room paint color was basically "gas station bathroom beige" from a late night drive. I once matched a sweater to the exact grey-green of a mossy public park bench. The real treasure is in those weird, grimy city palettes, like the faded pink of old chewing gum on concrete or the specific yellow of a weathered school bus.
