My whole collection for a show in Chicago got panned because I was using the wrong muslin weight.
The head buyer for a big department store told me my final fabrics 'draped like cardboard' after seeing my samples, which made me finally understand that my cheap, heavy muslin for toiles was completely distorting the fit and flow of every single piece.
