I saw a dress go from thrift store dump to runway copy in 3 months flat

A friend of mine picked up this stained old 90s dress at a Goodwill in Portland for $4, altered the hem and added some pleats. Now I'm seeing almost the EXACT same design in a boutique window downtown for $180. Has anyone else noticed fast fashion brands ripping off thrift flips this quick?

That's wild... guess the runway is just TikTok with a bigger budget now.

Yeah start watermarking your photos or adding a hidden stitch detail that's hard to copy. I've seen my own thrift flips show up on Shein within weeks. Just one clear photo with a recognizable mark can help prove it's yours if someone calls them out.
