I finally stopped sketching by hand and went full digital for my designs

For ages, I clung to my pencil and paper, thinking that was how real fashion ideas were born. Then I picked up a drawing tablet on a whim, and wow, it turned my whole process upside down. Now I can erase stuff in a second and swap fabrics on screen before cutting anything. But part of me still loves the smudge of graphite and how a sketchbook feels. So, what's your view: does drawing by hand spark more original ideas, or do digital tools make designing simpler and less messy?

Watched my friend, a fashion student, tear pages out of his sketchbook in frustration every week. He switched to a tablet last semester and now zooms through designs, changing colors and patterns with a click. But he admits his best concepts still start as quick, messy pencil scratches on napkins or receipts.

Relate to clinging to pencil sketches while using digital tools.

Yeah, that's the real thing. My whole process is digital now but I still need that first pencil sketch to feel right, just like @quinn_henderson said. The screen is for cleaning it up, not starting it.
