I finally hit 50 finished pieces on my sewing machine last month
I looked at my notebook a few weeks ago and saw I've been tracking every garment I've made since 2019. Number 50 was a simple cotton dress for my niece's birthday in June... nothing fancy, just a basic A-line with a floral print from Joann's. It really hit me how far I've come from my first project which was a crooked pillowcase that I messed up the seam allowance on. I still remember cutting that first pattern in my tiny apartment kitchen, nervous about wasting fabric. Now I can draft my own sleeves without even thinking twice about it. Has anyone else kept a running tally of what they've made? I'm curious if hitting a certain number changed how you approach new projects.

Totally get the feeling of looking back and seeing how much you've grown. I started sewing masks during the lockdown and never thought I'd still be going, but here I am with a whole folder of patterns I've made up myself. Hitting that milestone really made me realize I trust my instincts more now, like I don't double check every single step three times before cutting fabric. It's a nice confidence boost, isn't it? What kinds of projects are you thinking of tackling next now that you're at 50?

It's wild how that confidence sneaks up on you, right?
