Hot take: everyone loves the asymmetrical hem trend but I think it's a mistake for most bodies
I was in a boutique in Portland last month, and I tried on seven different asymmetrical hem dresses. On the hanger they looked amazing, but on my 5'4" frame every single one made me look boxy and cut off my legs at the wrong spot. I get the appeal, but I think designers are forgetting that proportion matters way more than just a trendy cut. Has anyone else found a specific brand that does asym hems right without making you look stumpy?

Wait, you tried on seven of them in one go? That's some serious determination right there. I once drove two hours to a specific store because I saw a dress online that I was dead set on owning. Got there, tried it on, and the hem hit me at the worst possible spot just above the knee where my legs start to look like little sausages. I stood in that dressing room for a good ten minutes trying to convince myself it looked fine before I finally gave up and bought a pair of socks instead.

Did you at least get your money back on the socks?
