Used to think virtual assistants were just for rich guys in suits
After my accountant dad's retired assistant helped me organize my invoicing mess in under 2 hours flat over a Zoom call from her kitchen in Ohio, I realized I was wrong about who actually benefits from these services.

Dude this is EXACTLY what happened to me with my landscaping business last summer. My dad's old assistant from his law firm showed me how to set up automated scheduling and I felt like such an idiot for struggling with paper calendars for YEARS. She was on a video call from her basement in flip flops eating a popsicle while walking me through spreadsheets. Made me realize I had this weird mental image of virtual assistants being these robotic corporate types in fancy offices. Now I tell every small business owner I know to just try one for a day and see what happens.

My assistant once sent me a voice memo at 11pm from her kid's soccer game explaining how to automate my invoicing and I still couldn't figure it out for three more weeks. I was using sticky notes on my monitor like some kind of caveman. She probably thought I was hopeless but she just kept sending me links to YouTube videos with timestamps and everything. I finally broke down and paid her double for the first month just out of embarrassment.
