Tried putting a 3D printed cap on my shop vac hose and it actually helped a ton
I was getting sick of the hose catching on every corner in my garage in Phoenix so I printed a little tapered end piece. The suction actually got way better on the narrow spots but now it whistles like crazy. Anyone know a way to quiet it down without losing that seal?

Bet you just made it louder on purpose for attention.

...and honestly I was in the same boat until I tried something similar on my ridgid vac. The whistle is just air squeezing through that narrow print, @the_rowan can laugh all he wants but the suction improvement is real. You might try adding a small slit or a few tiny holes near the base of the cap to break up the air flow a bit. It'll lose a tiny bit of suction but the noise dropped way off for me.
