Thought the 'freezer trick' for cordless tool batteries was total nonsense
My Milwaukee M12 died after two years, but leaving it in a freezer bag overnight actually got me one more full charge cycle. Anyone know why that works or if it's safe for the battery long term?

Two years for an M12 battery seems way too short. Milwaukee stuff is usually built to last a lot longer than that. Maybe you just got a bad cell from the start.

Wait, so my freezer is now a battery charger and not just for my questionable leftovers? Honestly, I tried the same trick on a dead Ryobi pack last year and it worked for like five minutes, just long enough to finish a cut and feel like a genius. From what I've read, the cold can sometimes temporarily help a worn-out battery hold a charge by slowing down the chemical reactions inside. It's a last-ditch thing, not a fix. Probably not great for the battery in the long run, but when it's already dead, what's the harm?
