The time I burned out my shop vac filter in 20 minutes

I was at a job in Milford last Tuesday cleaning up drywall dust and didn't think to check my shop vac filter first. It was caked from a previous job and totally clogged. Within 20 minutes the motor started screaming and I smelled burning rubber. Now I keep a spare filter in my truck at all times and swap them out as soon as suction drops. Anyone else learned this the hard way with their shop vac?
