I finally stopped using a paper towel to check my circular saw blade angle
Used to hold a square up to the blade and squint for years, but last month I picked up a digital angle gauge for $20. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that saved them from guessing like this?

Did you find it made cuts more accurate right away or did it take some getting used to?

Oh man, @drew_chen, it was the exact opposite of "right away" for me... I actually nicked myself pretty good on the first try because I was used to my old setup and didn't adjust my grip. It took a good week before I stopped feeling like a clumsy kid with scissors for the first time. But yeah, once you figure out the angle and pressure it's way more consistent, like I can actually follow a line without it wandering off. Now I almost feel like I was missing out before, even with that learning curve.
