I don't get the hype about those fancy vacuum attachments

I was over at my buddy's house last month in Raleigh helping him clean out his basement before a sale. He pulls out this brand new vacuum with like 15 different attachments for pet hair and crevices and furniture brushes. I told him I still use my 12 year old shop vac with just the basic floor nozzle and a rag wrapped around the hose for tight spots. He laughed but then we spent an hour swapping out those little plastic pieces while his clogged up twice. Meanwhile my setup just worked and I didn't have to dig through a bag looking for some tiny adapter. Has anyone else found that more attachments just means more junk to lose or is it just me?

Lol right? Sounds like your buddy spent more time playing with Lego pieces than actually cleaning. I swear those attachment sets are just a conspiracy to sell more vacuum bags when you lose the one you need.

Totally with you on this @casey_torres60. I've got a box somewhere with like 15 different attachments for my canister vac and I swear I only actually use two of them. The rest just collect dust and take up space in the closet. Last time I tried to use the crevice tool I spent 20 minutes digging through that box before giving up and just using the floor head.
