Heard a guy at the hardware store say he sharpens his scissors by cutting sandpaper

He said he does it once a month and his kitchen scissors cut through anything now. Tried it last night on a worn pair I had and honestly they work way better. Anybody else do this or am I gonna wreck my blades?

Sandpaper trick works but grab some aluminum foil too if you really wanna test it.

So you think two swipes on some sandpaper is gonna destroy your scissors forever? Tbh I'm more worried about the people who act like this is some life-changing hack.
