Went to a fancy spa in Portland and saw a esthetician using the same cleanser I do at home

So I treated myself to this high end spa in Portland last weekend for a facial. The place was all marble and soft lighting, really bougie. But when the esthetician pulled out the cleanser I was shocked it was the same $12 drugstore brand I use. She used it with some fancy technique though, like really slow circular motions for a full 5 minutes. I asked her about it and she said most people don't spend enough time actually massaging the product in. She told me the price tag doesn't matter as much as the time you take. Now Im wondering if Ive been wasting money on expensive products when the real secret is just good technique. Has anyone else had this happen at a high end place?

Yeah, totally. Technique beats price every single time in my book.
