The way I used to wax brows vs now makes me laugh

I started out in 2014 at a salon in Austin and we did this whole tedious mapping with white pencil and thread before even touching a wax stick. Now I just look at someone's face for 5 seconds and freehand it, barely any product either. Any other estheticians ditch a bunch of steps over the years and feel like it works better?

Hold up wait so you went from mapping with thread to just eyeballing it in 5 seconds? That's a huge jump. I gotta ask though, what made you feel confident enough to ditch the white pencil completely? Was it just practice or did you mess up a few times before you figured out what worked for different face shapes? Because I've seen some estheticians go too far the other way and end up with brows that look totally different from each other.

Ha! Oh man, @parker_patel84 you caught me. I've definitely made some brows look like distant cousins instead of sisters. Messed up plenty. Stopped using the white pencil because I kept snapping them in my kit anyway. So I started training myself to look at the brow bone and the arch instead. For round faces I pull the arch a bit higher. Square faces I soften the front. Learned that from a few "whoops" moments where someone walked out looking surprised. I still have a white pencil in my drawer. But its mostly for emotional support now.
