That senior esthetician told me to skip toner for oily skin

My mentor at the salon in Phoenix swore toner was a scam for clients with oily skin. Said it just strips everything and makes you produce more oil. After a year of following her advice I finally tried a gentle pH balancing toner on myself and my skin calmed down way faster. Has anyone else gotten advice from a veteran that just didn't hold up to real testing?

Man that's rough, @drew_chen. It's funny how ignoring one small problem just makes everything else pile up too. Like I've been putting off cleaning out my fridge for weeks and now there's this science experiment growing in the back that's somehow affecting the whole kitchen smell. Same with emails, you skip one and suddenly you're drowning in a week's worth of nonsense. Feels like everything in life is connected like that, one little slip and the whole system gets tangled.
