Overheard a derm say "facials are just relaxation, not treatment" and I had to walk away

I was at a skincare conference in Portland last month and this dermatologist literally told a group that our work doesn't change skin texture or tone. Has anyone else dealt with doctors dismissing what we do?

Did that doc ever explain what they think facial massage actually does to the lymphatic system? Seems like a big gap in their education.
