I used to swear by alcohol-free toners for everyone

But after a client with super oily skin came in last Tuesday still breaking out after 3 sessions, I tried a witch hazel toner with denatured alcohol on her and it cleared up in a week. Has anyone else had better luck with alcohol-based products for certain skin types?

YESSSSSSSSS same thing happened to me! I had this client with like the oiliest skin I'd ever seen and I kept pushing my gentle alcohol-free stuff on her and she kept breaking out in those deep painful cysts. Finally I just grabbed a cheap neutrogena astringent with denatured alcohol and told her to try it and her skin literally turned around in like 4 days. No more breakouts, just clean matte skin. I've since started recommending alcohol based toners for those really stubborn oily types and it works way better than any natural stuff. She was stripping her skin with acne washes but the alcohol toner actually balanced her out somehow.
