Found out I was storing my glycolic acid wrong for like 2 years

I kept my 10% glycolic acid toner in the bathroom near the shower because it was convenient. Finally a client asked why my bottle was cloudy and I realized the heat and steam were basically cooking it into uselessness. Has anyone else ruined a product by not reading the storage label?

Honestly, that "(cooking it into uselessness)" part really hit home. My roommate did the exact same thing with her vitamin C serum. She kept it right on the bathroom counter, facing the window, for like eight months. It turned this gross orange-brown color and started smelling weird, but she thought it was just the product oxidizing normally. Then she finally read the bottle and it said "store in a cool, dark place." She felt so stupid, but tbh the packaging should really warn you about steam and humidity, not just light.

Heat and light both wreck vitamin C fast.
