Found a hack for sanitizing tweezers without damaging them

Last month I ruined a nice pair of tweezers by tossing them in my sterilizer like I do with my metal tools. The tips got all warped and useless. So I did some digging and found out most tweezers have a coating that can't handle high heat. Now I just wipe them down with 70% isopropyl alcohol and let them air dry for 5 minutes. Works perfect and my tweezers have lasted way longer. I tested it on 3 different brands and none had issues. Has anyone else run into this problem with their metal tools in the sterilizer?

Respectfully, a lot of tweezer coatings are actually fine with dry heat under 300°F, and soaking them in alcohol can sometimes loosen the coating over time. Did you check the manufacturer's specs before tossing them in?

Bought a fancy pair of ceramic tweezers once and thought I was being smart by boiling them. Yeah, they turned into useless little nubs within seconds. Learned my lesson hard way. Now I just use hydrogen peroxide, let them sit for a bit, rinse with cold water. Never had an issue since. Alcohol works fine too but I've got peroxide sitting around from cleaning my piercing stuff.
