A client in Denver made a comment about my consultation form that changed my whole approach.

She said, 'I wish you'd ask me what I'm scared of, not just what I want.' It hit different because I realized my forms were all about goals, not fears. Now I have a new line that says 'What's your biggest worry about this treatment?' and it opens up way better conversations. In the last month, three clients have mentioned anxiety about redness or downtime they wouldn't have brought up before. It takes an extra two minutes but makes the service feel way more personal. What's one small change you've made to your intake process that improved client trust?

Oh that's so smart! I started adding a simple "Anything else I should know?" at the end of my forms. It's crazy what people share when you just leave the door open like that.

Right? That open ended question is a total game changer. I put something like "Any other details you think are important?" on a work survey last month. We got back paragraphs of context we never would have asked for directly. People just need that little prompt to feel heard. It turns a basic form into an actual conversation.
