Threw $300 down the drain on a controller board swap

Bought a refurbished controller board for a 10-year-old Otis lift and spent 6 hours wiring it up only to find out it was programmed for a different model. Anyone else get burned by parts that claim to be universal but aren't?

Oof, that's rough. Sounds like "universal" really means "close enough haha good luck" in the elevator world. I guess you learned the hard way that a refurbished board is just someone else's broken problem in a new box.
