Rotor brake spring snapped on a 2006 Otis in Dayton, what a mess
Last Tuesday I was doing a routine check on a 2006 Otis in a 12 story office building and the spring on the rotor brake let go mid-run, dropping the car about 18 inches before the safeties caught it, so I had to pull the whole brake assembly and replace both springs and the coil, has anyone else seen these fail without any prior noise?

Man, a buddy of mine had the same thing on an old Dover, no warning at all, just dropped mid-floor.
