Rant: Picked the wrong door closer on a 30-floor job

Had to choose between a Norton 1600 and a LCN 4040 for a high-traffic office tower in Chicago. Went with the Norton cause it was cheaper. Three months later I'm back replacing half of them. The LCN holds up way better under constant use. Anyone else get burned by cheaping out on door hardware?

Three months later I'm back replacing half of them." Wow, that is brutal.

My first job in the trades I picked the cheapest exit device for a school gym and had to go back and swap all six within a year. Taught me real quick that saving a few bucks up front can cost you way more in the long run. Take this with a grain of salt, but I'd rather pay a bit more once than learn that lesson twice.
