You mentioning that note reminds me of my buddy who does handyman work. He fixed a squeaky door for an elderly neighbor last month. A week later he found a thank you card tucked under his coffee tin on the porch, with a couple homemade cookies wrapped up. He said it made him feel like a superhero for a whole day, you know? Just that little bit of "I see you" stuff.
