Got stuck for 6 hours on a weird door lock fault in a 90s Otis
The car kept getting stuck at the top floor with the doors open a crack. I checked the lock rollers, the cam, the clutch, everything. Turns out a tiny piece of the old lock bracket had cracked and was just barely catching the cam wrong. Found it after pulling the whole assembly apart. Anyone else ever find a weird hidden break like that?

Man, that reminds me of a stripped gear I found in a dishwasher once.

Read a repair blog that said plastic gears in dishwashers are a common fail point. They get brittle from heat and detergent over the years. The writer mentioned the pump or drain assembly is usually where you find them stripped. Makes sense why a machine would just stop mid-cycle.
