A simple door adjustment took me 6 hours yesterday

Thought it was a quick sensor alignment. Turned out the track was bent by like 3 millimeters from a freight hit last month.

Bent track from a freight hit is a classic nightmare. 3mm doesn't sound like much but it throws everything off. Best trick I've found is to mark the bend with a sharpie, then take a rubber mallet and a block of wood and gently tap it back straight against the frame. Check with a level as you go. Also make sure the rollers are clean and lubed, cause a sticky roller will make a small bend feel way worse than it is. That 6 hour job turns into 30 minutes once you know the spot.

Oh man, I feel this one in my bones. There's nothing worse than chasing a tiny bend that just messes everything up for hours. It is so frustrating when you think you have it straight but the gate still drags or the door catches. I love that sharpie trick too, it makes such a difference when you can actually see where the problem is instead of guessing. And you are absolutely right about those sticky rollers making a small issue feel like a total disaster. Its amazing how often a good cleaning and lube saves you from having to tear the whole thing apart.
