Vent: My condo board junked every lobby light without a second look

Figured out they had bad wiring. A simple fix would have kept them out of the landfill.

Last week, I saw a pile of microwaves at the recycling center. Most just needed a new power cord. It's crazy how a simple fix gets overlooked. Is it a lack of skills or just not knowing where to start? I learned to rewire plugs from a YouTube video. What was your first repair project?
