That ultrasonic cleaner I pooh-poohed for years finally earned its spot on my bench

I spent 6 months trying to resurrect a crusty old receiver board with alcohol and a toothbrush before I caved and spent $80 on a used 2-liter tank, and it stripped 15 years of gunk off in under 10 minutes with zero scrubbing-anyone else have a tool they were dead wrong about for way too long?

Yeah, that line about "15 years of gunk off in under 10 minutes" is wild. Did the alcohol and toothbrush actually get it clean enough to work after all that time, or were you just making things worse without realizing it? Kinda curious if you tested the board between all those scrubbing sessions.
