Saw a guy on YouTube say never use flux and it got me thinking about how many people spread bad info

I fixed a 12-year-old receiver yesterday without any extra flux, just rosin-core solder, and it fired right up after a cold joint repair - has anyone else noticed how many so-called pros skip the basics and still get away with it?

My buddy swore by that no-clean flux stuff and ended up with a gooey mess all over his board, but the damn thing still worked like a charm. Rosin core has never let me down either.

Has anyone tried cleaning that gooey stuff off with isopropyl and a toothbrush?
