Rant: I used to hate fixing those old VCRs with the belt issues

Started using a $20 thermal camera from a flea market to spot the slipping belt instantly, saves me like 15 minutes per unit. Anyone else got a weird tool that's become a game changer?

I've seen belts turn to goo or snap completely after people tried cleaning them with stuff like that. It might work for a day or two, but you're just asking for it to fail again real soon.
