PSA: I fixed a 1980s TV with a piece of aluminum foil
A neighbor gave me an old Zenith TV that would not turn on. I opened it up and saw a cracked trace on the power board. I did not have any copper tape, so I cut a tiny strip of kitchen foil and glued it over the break with a drop of super glue. It powered right up and has been working for a week now. Has anyone else had to use a weird household item for a quick trace repair?

Wow, that sounds like a serious fire hazard.

That Zenith is probably drawing a couple hundred watts through a piece of foil glued on with super glue. The heat from that trace alone could loosen that bond in a week.
