Just changed my mind about using flux on old boards after a talk with a buddy

My friend Jose, who runs a repair shop in Austin, told me he never skips flux even on crusty 90s gear. He showed me a trace he fixed in 30 seconds with a tiny dab, and I tried it on a dead VCR tuner last weekend - worked way better than my usual dry soldering. Anyone else have a repair habit they flipped on?
