If your brother can't replace a battery without calling you, he needs a lesson, not a handout.
I'm tired of being the family IT guy for every dead remote. Teach them to use a multimeter once, and save yourself the headaches. It's basic life skills, not rocket science.

Is it really that big a deal if your brother asks for help with a battery? Not everyone picks up on simple fixes, even if you show them once. Sure, it gets old, but acting like it's a huge life skill failure seems over the top. Most folks just want the remote to work, not a lesson on tools. How many times can this actually happen in a month anyway? You might be blowing it out of proportion, lol. Sometimes helping family is just part of life, not a constant headache.

Seriously, how can you ask how many times it happens? The original guy said it's all the time. Multiple times a week easy. That's not just a simple fix, that's a pattern. Basic battery stuff should stick after one show. Constant help turns into a chore, not family bonding. Sounds like you've never dealt with this level of repeat questions.

Honestly though, sometimes I wonder if the complaining is more about the relationship than the actual battery. It's not like your brother is asking you to rewire the house, it's a remote. If you always help and act annoyed every time, maybe he just doesn't want to risk messing it up and having you snap at him.
