Fried a brand new scope board in 30 seconds flat

I was recapping a 1980s Tektronix 465 in my garage last weekend and dropped a screwdriver across the power rail. That blue smoke came out fast and now I got a dead vertical amp. Anyone else learn grounding discipline the hard way like this?

Honestly @leo_lopez that hits way too close to home. I once tripped over my own feet trying to "casually" run into an ex at a coffee shop and ended up faceplanting into a table. Tbh I think my dignity left the building long before that moment anyway. Ngl it's kinda funny looking back now, even if it stung like crazy at the time.
