TIL that $300 "commercial grade" receptacle I was skeptical about actually held up after 2 years in a machine shop environment

I had this one customer who insisted on using those Spec Grade Hubbell receptacles for all his equipment drops even though I argued they were overkill, but after seeing zero failures in 2 years while the cheap ones we put in next door kept cracking, I guess he was right has anyone else had a situation where the premium stuff actually paid off?

Wait, you're telling me those $20+ Hubbells actually survived a machine shop with all the vibration and metal shavings? That's wild. I've seen so many of the cheaper Leviton ones crack right at the faceplate screw after a few months in a dusty garage. Maybe I gotta stop being cheap with my own home shop and just bite the bullet on a few of those heavy duty ones.
