Thought those fancy wire strippers were a gimmick til I tried my boss's Knipex
Dude I been using the same cheapo $8 strippers since trade school. My foreman handed me his Knipex auto strippers last Tuesday on a big panel job and I swear I finished that box in half the time. They just grab and strip perfect every time no adjusting. I still think $40+ for pliers is crazy but I ordered a pair that night. Anybody else fight buying nice tools for way too long?

What finally made you switch? I was the same way, kept using my old cheap ones because they worked fine most of the time. Then my boss let me borrow his Knipex auto strippers for a big cable tray run and I got it why people spend the money. The way they just strip 12 and 14 gauge without any fiddling felt like cheating.

Felt like cheating"... that's the thing though, once you get that experience it's hard to go back. It's funny how we'll put up with junk tools forever until someone hands us something that just works, then it clicks.
