Rant: Saw a real mess at the new condos on Elm Street

Walked through a unit after the drywall went up. Saw a junction box just floating in a wall cavity, no bracket, no support. How does that even pass a rough-in? Anyone else seeing this kind of sloppy work lately?

Just floating in the wall? That's wild. Did you see any other red flags in the unit, or was it just that one spot?

Check the baseboards in every room, especially where they meet the floor. If they're pulling away, that's a bad sign. Look for hairline cracks in the corners of door frames too. The floating spot is rarely alone. My old place had that, and we later found a slow leak inside the wall that ruined the subfloor. Get a good inspector to check for moisture.
