Just realized I've been bending conduit wrong for 10 years

Switched from using a manual bender to a hydraulic one on a job last week and my 90 degree bends came out perfect the first time, no more fighting with springback or bad angles, has anyone else made the switch and never looked back?

That old Blue Book manual bender trick is actually wrong for hydraulic too. Springback doesn't magically disappear with different tools. It's still there. The real difference is the hydraulic bender keeps constant pressure so you don't get that uneven bend angle. But you still have to overbend by a degree or two. Trust me, I learned that the hard way on a big 4 inch run last year. Made all my bends at exactly 90 and they all sprung back to 88 or 89. Had to redo three of them.

Nah man, I gotta disagree. I've been bending 4 inch on a hydraulic for years and I barely get any springback at all. Maybe a half degree tops if the pipe is cold. Sounds like you might've been using a different alloy or your die was loose.
